Manual Lymph Drainage Course Description
Learn how to promote the movement of lymphatic fluid out of the swollen limb(s) using light, effective skin-stretching massage techniques. MLD focuses on the lymph vessels to help your clients "decongest" the affected area and start moving the fluid naturally and back to the heart.
This class is geared specifically for the massage professional who wants to:
- Provide MLD as their services
- Understand how to use manual lymphatic drainage effectively
- Learn from highly skilled instructors and practice MLD hands-on
- Learn proper pressure, rhythm and rate of manual therapy to enhance lymphatic function
- Learn how to assess and interview clients
- Gain informed consent for treatment and,
- When it is safest to refer the client to a Certified Lymphedema Therapist or refer to a medical practitioner
You will leave the class confident and with very powerful skills in the field of manual lymph drainage.
What to bring:
One set of sheets, face cradle cover, and blanket. Massage tables and water provided.
